Aurora has grown up within the walls of he Keep, surrounded by duty, expectations, and the shadow of a queen who fears what she cannot control.
C. Lane Bailey
C. Lane Bailey is the author of 2 books, The Storyteller: The Dawn of Aurora and The Storyteller: A Princess Aurora Tale. Bailey is a former defensive lineman for the University of Washington Huskies, where he played under legendary Hall of Fame coach Don James. After a lifetime shaped by discipline, teamwork, and resilience, Bailey turned to storytelling as a new arena for expression—one rooted not in competition, but in reflection, imagination, and heart.
Bailey is a storyteller drawn to the quiet moments where memory, mystery, and truth begin to intertwine. His stories explore the unseen threads that shape who we are—often inspired by people and experiences from his own life.
If you enjoy reflective, character-driven tales with a touch of the unknown, you may find something here that stays with you long after the final page.
Central to his journey is the enduring love he shared with his late wife, Carla Marie Ehelebe Bailey. Their more than four decades together formed the emotional foundation of his life and now serve as the inspiration behind his writing. Following Carla’s passing, Bailey began channeling grief, memory, and devotion into stories that explore connection, loss, courage, and hope.
He lives in the Pacific Northwest, about an hour’s drive from his childhood home—a distance close enough to maintain lifelong friendships when schedules allow, yet far enough to appreciate the ways modern technology keep connections alive when busy lives do not. Those relationships, built over decades, continue to shape both his life and his storytelling.
Bailey believes deeply in the power of shared stories and human connection. He remains grateful for every reader who chooses to step into the world he creates and makes a sincere effort to respond personally whenever someone reaches out, whether through email or social media. For him, storytelling is not only about imagination, it is about connection, and the hope that stories can bring light to people of any age.
He continues to write and develop the expanding Storyteller series in the Pacific Northwest.
